This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Preview: Abbie Finn Trio - LIVE in Newcastle - July 26!

Yes, that's right, the Abbie Finn Trio will be playing a real, proper, genuine LIVE gig a week on Sunday. Drummer Abbie along with Harry Keeble (tenor sax) and lynchpin bassist Paul Grainger will be performing in the garden of St James' and St Basil's Church on Fenham Hall Drive in Newcastle on Sunday July 26.   

The monthly Thursday evening jazz at J's and B's concert series has proved to be a great success and this year's schedule was shaping up to be something special when lockdown put paid to all live performance. Now there is the prospect of a top notch jazz trio playing for about an hour or so from three o'clock in glorious sunshine. 

On the day it will be free admission but donations will be welcome. Refreshments will be available. Please be aware that if it rains the event could be cancelled without notice. Don't worry it won't rain, the jazz gods will see to it. See you there, socially distanced, of course!
