This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Hong Kong News

As Hong Kong opens up things are starting to happen on the entertainment side.
The band (The China Coast Jazzmen)  are at Ned Kelly's every Friday & Saturday and the eve of public holidays from 9:30pm - 1:00am, we hope to push the days up, but step by step until the world opens up and gets to some sort of normality. On the weekends the locals have been giving us great support.


The 2 live band broadcasts that went out on Vintage Chart Toppers with the band from Ned's were very well received and that was the first time we had played together for 3 months since Ned's was closed. So hope you enjoyed the broadcasts.

At Ned's we have also started a 'Hong Kong 78 rpm Record Club ' and will meet once a month to get out the Victrola and spin some 78's for an hour.
The first session is tomorrow (Thursday) at Ned Kelly's from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, if you are interested please pop along, everyone is welcome if you are free to do so.
