This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. I've Got A Feeling I'm Falling - Liza Pulman

The Summer is here and singer and comedienne, Liza Pulman has released another joyous new  song, I’ve Got A Feeling I'm Falling.

The song comes from her recently released EP, The Heart Of It and is written by the great Fats Waller. The wonderful orchestrations are by Joe Atkins and blowing his horn and making us smile is the one and only Steve Walker. As ever she is joined by her usual band of Tom Mark on bass, Danny Cummings on drums, Richard Pardy on sax and Andy Taylor-Vebel on guitar all, once again, brought together under the watchful ear of producer, Chris Porter and recorded at Real World Studios.

I've Got a Feeling I'm Falling, with music by Fats Waller and Harry Link and lyrics by Billy Rose was published in 1929. Following its release, a large number of different recordings were made and by many people including Ella Fitzgerald.

The track forms part of Liza Pulman’s new album The Heart Of It, which is due for release in spring 2021, coinciding with her rescheduled dates at London’s iconic Riverside Studios, running for seven nights from Monday 19 to Sunday 25 April 2021, tickets are on sale soon.

Liza Pulman commented on the recording of the video: “2020 has turned out to be the year of the “staycation” so my niece and her best friend and I went to Godrevy beach near where I live in Cornwall, with nothing but an iPhone and a large pink dress! We made a video that is joyous and sunny and I hope reminds us that laughing and enjoying the simplest pleasures in life has never been more important than it is right now.”

Liza has also recently released an EP featuring four tracks from the forthcoming album, Unchained Melody, My Favorite Year, I've Got A Feeling I'm Falling and Bye Bye Blackbird.
