Adrian Cox (clarinet, vocals)
For some reason love and all that nonsense dominated this week's Sunday Sermon (#35). Preacher Adrian Cox began with L-O-V-E, dedicating the performance to his girlfriend Andrea. Altogether now...Ah! Lover Come Back To Me (clarinet and vocals), The Man I Love (the Edmond Hall-Teddy Wilson recording Adrian's inspiration), that's the link, they're all online requests! Careless Love from way back, Adrian singing, oh yeah.
A Newcastle upon Tyne fan requested My Honey's Lovin' Arms, as did others, Adrian said he had to play - and sing - it. My dad plays the banjo said Cox. Looking directly into the camera our man shrugged his shoulders, adding, But that's alright! Two from Billie - Embraceable You (a vocal) followed by Harry Barris' Paradise. More amiable chatter between Cox and his 140 plus online audience. This Year's Kisses and on to a treat, our man singing, indeed remembering the lyrics to 'A' You're Adorable! Time was short , Adrian had another five or six tunes to play. Our host asked if he could run over time. No one objected. Just as well, next up was Creole Love Call.
The requests kept on coming...George Lewis' Burgundy Street Blues (a set highlight) for Bob from Pam. Two more tunes...Louis, I Love Jazz, closing with Sammy Fain's Love is a Many Splendored Thing.
