Bebop Spoken There

Freddie Gavita: "I first got into pedals when playing with Mark Fletcher's outfit Fletch's Brew. I felt with the line up I needed a bit of help" - (Jazzwise April, 2020).

The Things They Say!

Hudson Music: Lance's "Bebop Spoken Here" is one of the heaviest and most influential jazz blogs in the UK.

Rupert Burley (Dynamic Agency): "BSH just goes from strength to strength".

COVID-19

In the current climate we are doing our best to keep everyone up to date. All gigs, as we all know, are off.

However, good old YouTube has plenty to offer both old and new to help us survive whilst housebound. Plus now is a good time to stock up on your CDs.

Also, keep an eye out for live streaming sessions.

Alternatively, you could do as they do in Italy and sing from your balcony.

Today

As we all know there are no live gigs taking place in the immediate future. However, any links to jazz streaming that are deemed suitable - i.e. with a professional approach - will be considered for posting.

Needs of the Jazz Community

Jazz Services invite all interested parties - and that means you if you're visiting this site - to take part in a survey in an attempt to establish the needs of the Jazz Community. John Lyons of Jazz Services says that they are trying to gather as much data as they can on how best to serve the scene.  It’s something that they (and the Arts Council) have been wanting to do for a while.
I think it's important that we do air our views and share our thoughts with them as to what we want from Jazz Services and how they can draw important conclusions from the Jazz Community's response.

PS: Of similar importance is the need for that same community to turn up at the Lit and Phil, Newcastle on October 23 for the public meeting JAZZ IN THE NORTH EAST - THE WAY FORWARD. 7pm. Chris Hodgkins of Jazz Services will chair the meeting.
