This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Preview: Black Music in Europe: A Hidden History (part 3, Tuesday 21)

The third and final part of Clarke Peters' survey of post colonial musicians migrating to Europe will be broadcast tomorrow (Tuesday) at 9:00am on Radio 4. Black musicians from Jamaica, Trinidad, Surinam and many other parts of the globe found a home - and an audience - in Europe during the 1970s which coincided with the rise of disco and the synthesiser. If you miss the morning broadcast be sure to catch the repeat at 9:30pm. BSH's Ann Alex will once again review the programme.
