This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) At a Loose End?

This evening's edition of Loose Ends (Radio 4) could be of interest to jazz fans. Local hero - that's Newcastle's local hero - Sting will perform his recently released single Little Something recorded as a duet with Melody Gardot. Another of Clive Anderson's guest will be Judi Jackson. Ms Jackson was one of the big attractions at this year's Gateshead Jazz (that's Sage Gateshead's rebranded annual jazz festival) which, along with every other event on the planet, was cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic. Tune in at 6:15pm.
