No less a person that George Ricco himself tells me the drummer is Billy Mordue.
The drummer is indeed Bill Mordue who is my father in law. Now sadly suffering from late stage Alzheimers but the one thing that still get's his toes tapping is good music.I also have to say that the Musician's Union have been great.
Does anyone recall GEORGE McGUINNESS, pianist/organist, playing at The Cavendish in the 60s/70s? Did Jimmy Benz have a band there?
Yes I worked with George in the late 80's till his death around 97. A great muso who didn't suffer fools gladly but would back a friend to the hilt. George could play for any artist either with or without music. A brilliant piano player George played at the 'Gosy park' when Jack Lemon stayed and Jack walked up to George and said "loved you playng friend you have a lovely touch thanks a lot" or words to that effect. Before I met George he worked with Paula People. Any one else remember George.....Geoff??
