Bebop Spoken There

Georgia Cécile: "For me, whether it's an instrumentalist or a singer, they have to be telling a story." - (JazzWisee July 2020).

Dave Rempis:Ten years from now, I can see musicians streaming concerts in real time and charging a minimal amount for people to watch.” - (DownBeat September 2013)

The Things They Say!

Hudson Music: Lance's "Bebop Spoken Here" is one of the heaviest and most influential jazz blogs in the UK.

Rupert Burley (Dynamic Agency): "BSH just goes from strength to strength".

11,629 (and counting) posts since we started blogging just over 12 years ago. 764 of them this year alone and, so far, 28 this month (July 8).

As we all know there are no live gigs taking place in the immediate future. However, any links to jazz streaming that are deemed suitable - i.e. with a professional approach - will be considered for posting.

A touch of Nostalgia

Brian Littlefair, a former colleague of mine at J.G.Windows Music Store, sent me this reminder of the old Down Beat Club in Newcastle. Interestingly, this was in the days when what ultimately became the Emcee 5 were still the Emcee 4 - trumpeter Ian Carr had yet to team up with brother Mike (pno/vbs), Gary Cox (ten), Malcolm Cecil (bs) and Ronnie Stephenson (dms).
Early 1960's I guess.
