Bebop Spoken There

Alan Barnes: "Normally you can cobble a set together with five guys on the back of an envelope over the first pint and it's just fine. Livestreaming isn't like that." - (Jazzwise July 2021)

Archive quotes.

The Things They Say!

Hudson Music: Lance's "Bebop Spoken Here" is one of the heaviest and most influential jazz blogs in the UK.

Rupert Burley (Dynamic Agency): "BSH just goes from strength to strength".

'606' Club: "A toast to Lance Liddle of the terrific jazz blog 'Bebop Spoken Here'"

The Strictly Smokin' Big Band included Be Bop Spoken Here (sic) in their 5 Favourite Jazz Blogs.

A66 Road Trip Part 2 - Tees Valley Jazzmen/persons? @ Boston Spa November 3.

(The 210 mile round road trip from Ashington continues)
Kevin Belton (pno/vcl); Phil Smith (bs); Danny Daniels (dms); Gavin (bjo); Don Fairley (tmb;) Gavin Lee (clt/sop); Donna Hewitt (clt, alto) Kate (tpt)
Kevin Belton has recently expanded the line up to include two lovely young ladies. So it’s “What to call the band”. Not Tees Valley Jazzmen any more!!
Donna did some smashing solo work on Misty and other numbers. Of special note was Gavin Lees Soprano In the Picau High Society solo. Via Rosa, and Too Busy were featured in the first set and later the pad was:
China Boy, Dinah, Spain, Just a Closer Walk With Thee, That Izssy Bonn number with a German name (Ed - Bei Mir Bist Der Schoen?), Sheik of Araby, St Philips Breakdown, Old Rugged Cross, High Society and Goin' Home
It’s along way to travel but it’s a real good venue. Boston Spa have a fantastic weekly programme lined up including on  December 8 a tribute to the late Ragtime Tommy Burton
