This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Preview Nicola Farnon Trio @ J's & B's - Sept. 16

Tomorrow night promises to be something rather special at J & B's - a session by the Nicola Farnon Trio. I last heard Nicola at the Ushaw Jazz Festival a couple of years back and I look forward to hearing her again - this time with Richard Wetherall on piano and Phil Johnson on drums. It will be well worth getting the number 63 from Blackett St (opposite a branch of a well known bakery chain) at 6:39pm or 7:08pm.

If you've been to St James and St Basil's before and complained about the hard seats, just remember why churches have uncushioned seats.

It was to avoid the parishioners getting too comfortable and falling asleep during the sermon. I guarantee that with Nicola in the pulpit no one will be falling asleep -Amen! Lance
