This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Sunday's Music Life - Dec. 6

Today's edition of Music Life on BBC 6 Music features three high profile British jazz musicians on the subject of being an outsider. First broadcast on the BBC World Service, this third programne of six hears contributions from Nubya Garcia (pictured), Ashley Henry and Shabaka Hutchings. Kojey Radical presents, 1:00pm. 

Earlier on 6 Music, from 10:00am, Cerys Matthews' weekly three hour stint on the airwaves is an eclectic mix of music which often includes jazz and blues tracks.
