This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Reviewers wanted

Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Preview: Paul Edis-Vasilis Xenopoulos Quartet - live & live streaming from Hampstead Jazz Club (Dec. 12)

Ah, today is a good day isn't it?! The vaccine is on its way, it'll soon be spring and we'll be out and about at live gigs and jam sessions. Until then, for many of us, the live stream is our means of keeping in touch with musicians we would normally expect to see up close in our local jazz venues. 
On Saturday 12 December there is an unmissable live stream from Hampstead Jazz Club featuring two musicians not unfamiliar to BSH's north east of England readership. Pianist Paul Edis and saxophonist Vasilis Xenopoulos will be performing numbers from their album A Narrow Escape together with some new material in the company of bassist Adam King and drummer Matt Home. The one hour stream will begin at eight o'clock and, for the lucky few, there is a limited number of tickets available for those who can get to the Duke of Hamilton on the night.
