Duke Ellington's Christmas Nutcracker

Tonight at eight o'clock Kansas Smitty's presents Duke Ellington's Nutcracker Suite. Throughout a lockdown/tiered 2020 Kansas Smitty's has been a shining beacon with one superb online gig after another. From duo to big band, the Kansas Smitty's guys have covered a wide spectrum.
Highlights? Joe Webb's dazzling Art Tatum set, Alec Harper's storming Sonny Rollins session, the emergence of Jalen N'Gonda. This evening there is the major undertaking of recreating Duke Ellington's 1960 album The Nutcracker Suite (Ellington, Strayhorn, Tchaikovsky). Kansas Smitty's twenty first century horns will be out to do justice to Johnny Hodges, Russell Procope, Harry Carney et al. Log-on, sit back and enjoy.
