Bebop Spoken There

Dave Holland: "Back then, one of my first gigs was with Wally Fawkes and Johnny Parker at the Crown and Anchor in Islington, playing music that went back to the days of King Oliver. And I've always enjoyed the joyousness of that music, and the sound of everybody fitting together beautifully, improvising together." - Jazzwise, August 2021.

More Bird ...

I’ve never been to college although I've studied Anthropology and Ornithology - I gained my degree and information from listening to 78rpm records.

I Remember You, it was A Night in Tunisia – or was it April in Paris? I Love Paris. I was drinking Swedish Schnapps and eating Peanuts, Salted of course, when you came along from Out of Nowhere.

We touched glasses and you said, “Cheers, Lover Man
I said, “Laura, we’re Just Friends.”

This Hot House on Dewey Square was giving me the Blues and they weren’t Cool.

I had a Dizzy Spell as Quasimodo approached with the bill. I said that I must go for a Wee. Bread is your only friend but I’d ate the bread and didn’t have the bread to pay for the bread so I wrote a cheque to pay the bill although I knew the bill would Bounce - my Billie’s usually do.

She said, “Now’s the Time let’s go do the Hucklebuck
I ignored the Temptation to make this rhyme …

I put a nickel in the jukebox “Is this the way to Camarillo?

PS: It's the Charlie Parker centennial on August 29 so all are invited to put their thoughts into words.

I doubt many can match that Lance. You deserve a PhD.
