This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Paul Edis: Lockdown Live - May 1

Another Friday lockdown lunchtime session with Paul Edis and delightful as ever it was too. Amazingly, although it's his seventh, I think he has yet to repeat himself so, as there were 13 tunes today next week will see him pass the 100 mark.

This week's selection included requests from Francis Tulip (Tune Up), BSH's own Ann Alex (Well You Needn't), Tony Roberts (The Duke) and Tony Eales (Unsquare Dance). 
Other classics were: You Stepped Out of a Dream; Embraceable You; Dindi; The Way You Look Tonight and Tenderly.

A classical classic, Plaisir d'amour, an original, 63 Years, and a couple of vocals - When You're Smiling and Midnight Sun.

These (all 13) made for a jolly afternoon that even the occasional picture freeze didn't spoil.

Request for next week, Moonlight in Vermont with its appropriate first line - Pennies in a stream - well hopefully more than pennies...
