This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Lancaster Jazz Festival Cancelled

We are posting to let you know that we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Lancaster Jazz Festival due to take place in September.

It seems increasingly unlikely that there will be any open public performances by September and all our venues are correctly not taking any bookings for then. In addition our main funder, Arts Council England, have redirected the grants we would have been supported by, which is understandable in these unprecedented times.

If you want to keep up with all your favourite artists from previous year's festivals - follow us on: 
Twitter, Instagram and Facebook where we'll be sharing links to new music to stream or download.
The team are continuing to work hard to develop and support the festival behind the scenes and we will be back stronger than ever in 2021.
