In recent times, with the honourable exception of the Great North Big Band Jazz Festival, jazz on Wearside has been a bit thin on the ground. This Sunday (Jan 14) that is about to change thanks to Bradley Johnston wandering into an old fire station in

It's been thin on the ground since I started gigging around 1970! Not for nothing is Sunderland known as the cultural dead centre of the North! So, fellow Mackems, prove me wrong by supporting this venture - who knows, it might be the start of something big......?
I remember seeing Freddy Randall at Seaburn Hall in the early fifties then I saw the Alex Welsh Band in a park and then there was.. er... yes, I see what you mean.
