Marc Myers on his top-rated jazz blog, Jazz Wax, has reported the passing of legendary jazz vocalist Marlene VerPlanck on January 14 aged 84. Despite being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer the singer continued to perform until fairly recently.For the past eighteen years we've been updating the world about jazz in the north east of England and updating the north east of England about jazz in the world.
