This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Duets by Sting

Sinatra did it, Tony Bennett did it, maybe even educated fleas did it and now Sting has done it.

Done what?, you ask.

Put together an album of duets from over the years. I haven't actually heard the CD/LP - as of yet, no crumbs have been thrown in our direction. However, I did discover this clip on YouTube of our boy singing In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning with Chris Botti on trumpet.

The most intriguing collaboration, I'm sure, will be Sting and Herbie Hancock's version of My Funny Valentine. This is the bizarre combination you might come up with in the pub as it gets towards closing time. Who knows but that it might work?
