The hundredth livestream from The Globe since lockdown began. Well done Jazz Co-op.
It was pleasant, even without a real live drummer who put an electronic dep in - as one does in this day and age. Prazeres was a new name to me but he crooned attractively in Portuguese, played idiomatic acoustic guitar to good effect and came across as a really nice guy.
Nick Gould is no stranger to this venue and his Getzian tenor was perfect for tonight's bossa/Latin based gig. The two worked well together even though, at times he was, as they say in less sophisticated circles, flying by the seat of his pants! He didn't come to any harm and the absence of a drummer didn't detract from the overall ambiance.
I recognised most of the numbers, although not all by name. Wave, No More Blues and Corcovado were three that I hit on but I was absorbing the music more than the song titles - must brush up on my Portuguese.
These Sunday nights really are something special.

Hi Lance! Thanks for the review. It was great to be out again, the first proper gig in more than a year. Hopefully things will be looking up soon best regards Nick
