This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Stoned again! Vieux Carré Jazzmen are on the move

The Vieux Carré Jazzmen moved from The Millstone to The Victory and now these wandering minstrels are moving again, this time to The Holystone Bar and Restaurant on Whitley Road (by the roundabout where the A19 and the A191 intersect) for their Thursday lunchtime session.
Next Thursday (May 19) is the final Victory  gig. The following week (May 26) they open at The Holystone.
We wish them well.

Isn't this where I used to poke my nose in around 1975 when I came up from the Black Country? Munro Sutherland and assorted gents now deceased?
