It's some years now since we requested readers to submit their Five Discs to Die For. The idea was to provide a guide for those fansmaybe just dipping their toe into the often cloudy jazz stream. We received an excellent response the results of which are linked in the right-hand column pages. Today one of our newer reviewers, Steven Tulip, submitted his choices:
Miles Davis - Nefertiti.
John Coltrane - Africa Brass.
Duke Ellington - And His Mother Called Him Bill.
Charles Mingus - Tijuana Moods.
Weather Report - Black Market.
This prompted me to think that some of our readers/contributors who weren't on board when we first launched the idea might like to do so now and, in the process, maybe add some newer discs.
The criteria is - 5 discs max and no duplications of those already chosen.
