This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Preview: Anna Corcoran Band / Robert Vincent @ Jazz Café

Singer-songwriter and pianist Anna Corcoran together with her quartet perform songs from her acclaimed debut album 'Easier Than Falling. A perfect blend of mellow acoustic jazz with hints of pop and soul Anna is often compared to Norah Jones and Sarah Maclachlan. Anna's live sound has been championed by BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6Music 
Opening the show, is fantastic Liverpool Americana singer-songwriter Robert Vincent, also featured on Anna’s album and fresh from being personally selected by broadcaster Bob Harris to receive the highly prestigious Emerging Artist Award at the 2016 UK Americana Awards. Robert has recently completed a full UK tour supporting Paul Carrack and his last visit to the North East he performed to a sell-out crowd at The Sage, Gateshead.
