This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Globe fundraising raffle - don't hang about!

With only four days to go, now's the time to make sure you've entered the Globe's fundraising campaign raffle offering the opportunity of winning a 1978 Ibanez Artist 2630 guitar!!

It's only a tenner to enter which, in the context of the prize - estimated value is around £2000 (in today's hip parlance, 2k) - offers a dream come true for a guitarist or an investment for a non-player.

However, win or lose, by merely buying a ticket you are helping to ensure that this award winning venue continues to present live music and jazz especially...

...and, it's not all about the guitar. Other prizes include gig tickets to some of the North East's finest venues: Tyne Theatre, Newcastle; Sage Gateshead; Fire Station, Sunderland, and - of course - The Globe in Newcastle. There's also a pair of weekend tickets to the 4th Annual Bath Jazz Weekend Festival in January 2024, 3 copies of Charles Mingus vinyl LP Mingus Ah Um, & 2 Globe T shirts.
