This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Reviewers wanted

Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. A BRIGHT NOWHERE - new film on improvised music

This feature length documentary will cover a remarkable series of four concerts that took place in July 2022 to mark UK improvising musician Eddie Prévost's 80th anniversary, and includes new interviews with key players involved in the series speaking about their approach to music-making.

The concerts saw a roll-call of leading improvising musicians take the stage at London's Cafe OTO (personnel is listed in full on the campaign webpage), and the fourth concert - a particularly remarkable show - was the last ever public performance of AMM, the legendary noise/improv music group founded in the mid-1960s.

To enable us to finish the film, screen in at a launch event in London (and elsewhere if possible) and share it worldwide freely online, we are running a crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo.  

Our minimum goal is £6,000 and we've reached almost 20% of this at the time of writing, so we still have some way to go.
