This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. A Limited Re-Stream with Tom Harrell - April 23-25

The BBC has been known to roll out the line 'another chance to hear/see'. In other words, a repeat broadcast of a programme shown days, weeks, months, possibly years ago. Now, in these online jazz gig times, venues are offering a similar service. NYC's Village Vanguard is currently plugging a 'limited re-stream' opportunity to watch a Tom Harrell performance first streamed in September 2020. 

Following the success of the Aurora album launch live stream from Gosforth Civic Theatre featuring Noel Dennis and Zoë Gilby reworking material written by the lauded American trumpeter-composer, Harrell himself can be seen and heard in an online concert via the Village Vanguard's website. Today (Sunday) is the third and final day of the re-stream featuring Harrell (trumpet & flugelhorn), Luis Perlomo (piano) and bassist Ugonna Okegwo.
