It's all part of the fun - finding the link (after much cussing and frustration) and deciding it was all worthwhile. This one was so late it made it seem as though last night's live Paul Skerritt stream had started early!
Liane Carroll kicked things off with a blues and some good guitar playing from whoever was on guitar. Eric Alexander teamed up with Dave O'Higgins for a tenor tournament. Claude Deppa played what looked like a cross between a cornet and a flugel horn. Tiptoe didn't tiptoe but came on strong, Tina May duked it out with Nikki Iles and co on Come Sunday and Take the A Train followed by New York drummer Ari Hoenig alongside Danton Boller (bass) and Jonathan Kreisberg (guitar) on All or Nothing at All.
These were recordings from Jazz Leeds' many sessions spread across the years. There was also a raffle for a Wensleydale cheese that, hopefully, was of a more recent vintage.
Part 2 now up and running but I need a rest!
