This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Jazz on the Tyne – What’s On & What’s New, September 2022

Ahead of the Newcastle Festival of Jazz and Improvised Music (which will be covered on later editions of the podcast), presenter Colin Muirhead previews gigs by the Tango Jazz Quartet, Paul Edis’s Ushaw Ensemble, Emma Fisk's Hot Club du Nord and Madeleine Peyroux.  He also features new releases by Knats, John Garner, Spinningwork, the Elton Dean Quartet and Goldsmith Baynes, plus music by the Tommy Smith Youth Jazz Orchestra.
