In my defence, I thought this re-stream started at 9:00pm as the live livestreams usually do.
I was wrong!
It actually started an hour earlier so I only caught the last 20 minutes after realising my error.
However, those 20 minutes were more precious than many a stream that was three times as long - and more ...
Two brilliant guitarists, a superb bass and drums and the unique ambiance that so typifies the 606 made me delighted to have heard what I heard and to be so so so frustrated not to have heard more.
Blue Mitchell's Guantanamera was where I came in, followed by Sandu and, finally, Tune Up. Both guitarists complemented each other. This wasn't a cutting contest but a show of mutual respect between two world class guitarists who gelled perfectly.
The Browns on bass and drums were tailor made for the gig - the ever smiling Steve providing just the right balance to keep things flowing with Jeremy laying down the harmonic foundation.
The original gig was at the back end of November and was, I guess, part of the EFG London Jazz Festival 2021.
