This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Abbie Finn tickets going...going...almost gone!

Tickets are on sale now for the Abbie Finn Trio's album launch gig at Prohibition Bar in Newcastle. Drummer Abbie recently recorded an album with saxophonist Harry Keeble and bassist Paul Grainger at Blank Studios in Newcastle and the trio will celebrate its imminent release by playing a socially distanced gig on Thursday October 29. 

Prohibition Bar offers a Covid-secure environment with comprehensive yet unobtrusive measures in place. Government guidelines dictate that the first floor space on Pink Lane near Central Station is limited to little more than half a dozen tables seating two or four people. 

Tickets: £10.00. + £1.00. bf for a table for two, £20.00. for a table for four + £2.00. bf are available here.  

Doors open at 7:00pm, gig starts at 8:00pm with everyone off the premises by 10:00pm. Abbie will have copies of the CD - Northern Perspective* - with her on the night. Buy one (ask nicely and Abbie and the boys will sign it!), it will make the ideal Christmas present!
