(Press release)Lateralize Records is proud to announce the release of I Fall In Love Too Easily, the first single from Weathering The Storm, the much-anticipated debut album from Jo Harrop and Jamie McCredie.
Having cut their teeth working with an eclectic array of stars including Jools Holland, Melody Gardot, Emeli Sandé and Robbie Williams, Harrop and McCredie took a leap of faith and started working together on what would eventually become their debut album for London-based jazz label, Lateralize Records.
Jo Harrop’s beguiling, smoky voice shimmers and shines as it weaves its way between the notes of Jamie McCredie’s guitar like steam. Effortlessly blurring the lines between jazz, folk and blues, Weathering The Storm is a mellifluous mix of Great American Songbook classics and more contemporary material by everyone from Tom Waits to Randy Newman.
Mostly recorded live in one take, often in intimate late-night post-gig sessions, Weathering The Storm is an ineffably moving, achingly beautiful and fragile album that has a rare, ageless quality.
Weathering the Storm will be released in May 2020 through Lateralize Records. Single available on March 27.
