Bill was no follower of fashion, it was fashion that followed him. He lived for the moment, didn't suffer fools gladly and often showed them the error of their ways.
As a drummer he was sympathetic to his surroundings irrespective of the genre.
He was a unique person who, once you'd met him, you knew you'd been met and you never forgot it.
One of my favourite memories is when he found three abandoned kittens. Although, to the best of my knowledge, he had no history as a cat-person, rather than inform the RSPA he took them home with him where they were totally spoiled for the rest of their lives.
Despite the passage of time, the memories haven't faded. My thoughts are with Mary and Bill's children Maxine and Lynn. Lance
