This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Album review: Bill Evans - Inner Spirit.

The 1979 concert referred to in the previous post prompts me to reiterate what I posted then. I was about to go into greater depth until, after being suddenly hit by a bolt of lightning or maybe it was the sound of the great amen, I came to the conclusion that for me, who struggles to play Chopsticks (my parents are turning in their urns) could be so presumptuous as to pass judgement on Bill Evans, would be akin to me offering an alternative to Einstein's Theory of Relativity.

Suffice to say, it's a must for Bill Evans' fans and, to any one who can play Chopsticks better than me, it's a must have - all four CDs are! Lance
