When an album features several times in the Jazzwise album charts we don't want to be left out of the (post lockdown) party held at London's Jazz Café so this funky soulful album was given the go ahead to jump the queue!
Omar we knew from various livestreams as well as memorable appearance with Courtney at Hoochie Coochie and Sage Gateshead - to mention but some (check out). He's funky with soulful vocals. Throw in a pair of the UK's top horn players, Ross Stanley on B3 and James Maddren providing both restraint and power-play means you have an album that brings the London Jazz Café gig into your own listening area.
This is one package that deserves to go on the road - are you listening Warren? Debra?
Released on Friday (Feb. 11) with a launch at the venue where it was recorded on March 31. - Lance
Essensual; High Heels; Syleste; The Man; Ordinary Day; There's Nothing Like This; Feeling You; Stop War, Make Love.
