This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. The Show Must Go On - Next Sunday @ The Globe

As is now probably well-known, Ig Henneman and Ab Baars have had to pull out from next Sunday night's Jazz @ The Globe. Given the short notice the Jazz Co-op were unable to find an alternative band of similar style to step in. However, to ensure that the pattern of Sunday night jazz at The Globe continues uninterrupted, on Sunday  November 14 the Blue Jazz Quartet have stepped into the breach - and at a lower than usual ticket price!

In the photo they can be seen playing on the Concourse at Sage Gateshead as part of the 2013 Gateshead International Jazz Festival. Lance

Jazz.Coop at the Globe presents: The Blue Jazz Quartet with Miriam McCormick.

Swinging accessible jazz from the Blue Note end of the spectrum.

The quartet have been playing together for many years as the house band for the Blue Jazz Voices course run by Lindsay Hannon. Tonight they have the chance to stretch out and enjoy themselves with longer instrumental sets.
