This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Paul Edis to Take Five

Northeast resident Paul Edis has been selected to participate in the 2017 Take Five development programme. Music promoter Serious has announced its new cohort of musicians for the twelfth edition of the scheme. Pianist Edis, currently spinning any number of musical plates (composing, performing, teaching), is one of eight names destined for the Serious hothouse. *
Paul Edis maintains the region’s strong representation on the Take Five scheme over recent years: Zoë Gilby (2016) and Andy Champion and Chris Montague (2013). An impressive roll call over the last decade or so includes
