Sad news indeed. A fine bass guitarist, he will be remembered from his early day with Alan Glen to recent sessions at the Jazz Café and the 'Chilli'. He will also be remembered in Florida where he spent many Summers escaping our Winters. RIP Ray. A proper obituary will be posted as facts and comments are collated. We loved you even though I did usually spell your surname wrong. Sadly, I won't be able to make that mistake again...

A friend of mine who is friendly with Ray & his wife Sylvie (adjacent allotments) has just contacted me with the sad news that Ray has just died from cancer. She’s not sure how many in the local jazz community would be aware of this.
Sad about Ray,,, Ray worked with me for many years always loads of fun on a gig , I have some nice pics, big band also jazz trio with Dave Black and a few more so sad,
Very sad news .I worked with Ray quite a lot a really nice guy and a great bass player RIP
