The refurbished Jazz Café opened to an exciting start for the
New Year and quickly established itself as a vital live venue and a new daytime
Café of real quality. From the
start we welcomed the whole Jazz community and made space for promotions by
Jazz North East , Schmazz and the Pink Lane Jazz Coop. Our commitment to live
events continues with the launch of a larger more flexible venue upstairs at
the Jazz Café on April 4th.
We celebrate this step forward by hosting the Late Night Club of the Sage
International Jazz Festival on the weekend of April 4th and 5th.
Upstairs at the Jazz Café is a small unique venue which will
have a priority on live performance. It is licensed for Music, Theatre, Dance
and Cinema and has a late bar licence. It is available for hire for private and
public events and has the advantage of both technical and catering support. As
a complete self contained venue this will become an important low budget
creative space for the presentation of new shows in

just jazz, but it will take forward the lively spirit of creative
