This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Our Man in Hong Kong reflects on the Mouth of the Tyne Festival.

How nice it was to read about this year's Mouth Of The Tyne Festival and to see regular names and faces who are still playing and attending, and of course good to read that you had a chat with Tommy & Lorna, how much I would have loved to have been present in one form or another.

Not quite the same here but, here is a photo of us having our own fun on Lantau Island as each week we pick an island to play a few numbers on.

Unfortunately we are still in the Covid quagmire and even though Ned Kelly's is open but there is still no live music. My last session there was New Year's Eve 2021. Never mind onwards and upwards and they are getting there step by step.
