The Things They Say!

This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Reviewers wanted

Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Daryl Sherman Livestreaming Tonight from Madison, NJ.

Daryl was supposed to be playing tonight at her favourite venue - Shanghai Jazz in Madison NJ. However, she tells me, live dining and music are still a no-no but that soon they will have outdoor seating along with their "delish" take-out. 

Not to be outdone, Daryl asked owner Tom Donohoe if she could come out to play/sing a livestream (through Facebook) on their piano for a brief set with masked marvel Boots Malleson on bass. 


Daryl sees this as a virtual attempt to reach out to friends/fans on her birthday (and take home some Shanghai fish and dumplings!).

Go for it gal - fish and dumplings? Must run that one past our local chipshop!

If you live in New Jersey then the running time is 6:30pm - 7:15pm which translates to 11:30pm - 00:15am BST.
