This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Preview: Indigo Jazz Voices @ The Globe: Thursday April 20

                                                Indigo Jazz voices are Jen Errington, Jenny Lingham, Carrie McCullock, Barry Keatings, David Edgar and Ann Alexander. We are all solo singers, doing a selection of Swing, Bossa and Blues, with maybe the occasional early jazz number from the 1920’s.
We are accompanied by Alan Laws (piano) Katie Trigger (Bass) and a drummer TBC and Barry
Keatings , is accompanied by Ron Pattinson on piano.
Expect to hear songs such as:
Secret Love: Fly Me To The Moon: Gee Baby Ain’t I Good to You, and I’ve got You Under My Skin
Good listening is guaranteed, so don’t miss the gig.
It all begins at 7.30pm, admission is £4, and there are nibbles to eat.
