This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Paris Blues - mes excuses pour ce soir

It's raining, I'm full of cold and feeling sad. 
Why?
I'm going to miss Emma Fisk and Hot Club du Nord at the Jazz Café tonight. I've been looking forward to this gig all week and the fates have decreed it is not to be.
Hopefully, there will be someone there to write about it and take pics because, an Emma gig is always deserving of being remembered for posterity - like, you know, "I was there that night".
Gig stomps off at 9pm so you've got time - and please give my fave fiddler mes excuses pour ce soir.

Fraid we can't make it tonight either; off to Lincoln eaaarrrly to look around the Uni with no. 2 son.
We try to see them whenever we can but I know it'll be well supported anyway.
