This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. GIJF - After thoughts

Wow! This year's GIJF has had such a buzz - the blog's passed the million views and reviews are coming in right left and centre. which is great. Not everybody liked everything but everyone liked something and the ambiance around the whole building was just something else.
Trying to keep up with it all, however, is difficult - a bit like being the editor of a local newspaper when World War 27 breaks out in a neighbouring village!
I'm doing my best - excuse me whilst I find my tin hat!
Hopefully all who were at Sage Gateshead will discover, via this blog, all the wonderful jazz that is going on in the region throughout the year, both at Sage Gateshead and other lesser known but no less appealing venues - there is even a gig in Hebburn coming up!
