The Buck Starts Here

After  a break of over six years, and two landlords, regular jazz is now back at the Buck Hotel in Reeth, Swaledale.  A number of jazz events have now been organised and the Buck is looking forward to welcoming enthusiasts old and new.

 Keith Stephen : guitar ,banjo, ukulele, Roly Veitch : guitar,  Bruce Rollo : String Bass: Caroline Irwin :  ukulele and vocals
Playing a wide variety of jazz from the style of Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club of France to many jazz standards(and a few surprises)

Cornet: Harry Long, Cornet: Keith Benson, Trombone: John Crisp: Clarinet, John Bousefield: Clarinet, Dave Reid: Banjo, Sousaphone: Phil Kampen, Drums: Dave Stanley, Piano and Vocals: Kathy Benson.
It’s the King Oliver inspiration with the ‘Frisco sound.  The ‘Stompers’ are led by the legendary Harry Long and play in the Californian West Coast, traditional jazz style, influenced by King Oliver’s 1923 Creole Jazz Band and more recently Lu Watters Yerba Buena Band playing in the unique two cornet lead.

Frank Brooker: Reeds, Greg Wadman: Trumpet, Jim Wright: Banjo and Guitar, Rod McNamara: Drums
Frank has played a few times at the Buck previously and has never failed to please with his mastery of the jazz genre that encompasses over 50 years experience.
He is undoubtedly one of the most respected jazz musicians in the north east and with his ‘Happy Chappies’ are sure to give us a high quality evening of music and entertainment.
