It was eleven years ago to this very day that Keith Crombie left us. In the north east jazz community it was a day of great sadness for those who still hold him dear in their heart. Not just when they pass the old Jazz Café, now the Prohibition Bar, but when they think of the many musicians who played there. It was a rite of passage that led many of them on to greater things.
He was a man whom you could love or, sometimes, not love, but not in equal measure. The former was way ahead of the latter by a country kilometre or ten.
He was one of a kind. Lance
