This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Preview: Michael Bublé @ Utilita Arena, Newcastle - May 1 & 2

It was December 2019 when I first heard Michael Bublé at the Utilita Arena, Newcastle - me and 21,999 other people spread over two nights - and it was a memorable experience that will be repeated next Monday and Tuesday (May 1 & 2).

The complete entertainer, a legend in his own lifetime, you name it, the Canadian-born singer is both and more, transcending genres and appealing to all age groups.

Backed by a band, or shall we say orchestra? prepare yourself for a memorable evening but don't procrastinate - tickets are going fast. Lance

If you are going to Buble at the Arena be sure to have a drink or two at The Globe first. The drinks are cheaper and the environment more friendly than the Arena - and you will be supporting a community-owned venue committed to jazz!
