My first thought was that this was going to be an update on the suave, sophisticated dance craze that swept America in the 1940s and, even today, is part of the ballroom dancers' repertoire.
It isn't although its Cuban origins are still there albeit far removed from what Xavier Cugat or Carmen Miranda (with or without a bowl of fruit on her head) ever envisaged.
This could be re-titled The Rumba Nova. It's Cuban music as it's heard and played today in Havana and with the strong jazz element provided by the above players it makes you want to book your flight tomorrow.
I listened to it in bed and couldn't sleep so I played it again - and again! As such I didn't take any notes but check it out on social media and you'll realise you have a special talent in you midst - but don't do it in bed - you'll be late for work and we, Rafael and myself, would hate for you to get the sack!
