The long-awaited return of GJAS! - April 14

The pandemic put paid to in-person meetings of Gateshead Jazz Appreciation Society. Zoom meetings became the norm, a case of 'better than nothing'. Now, some two years on, jazz enthusiasts are once again able to meet at Gateshead Central Library. Familiar faces turned up clutching a selection of treasured CDs, eager to share their passion for the music with like-minded souls. Choices ranged from Chu Berry to Peggy Lee to Rob McConnell to whippersnappers like pianist Alexander Bryson. GJAS meets informally, fortnightly Thursdays (3:00-5:00pm) up on the first floor in the library. There's a nominal £1.00. charge, do try to get along to enjoy some convivial conversation and, of course, to listen to some jazz! Russell
