Adrian Cox in Denmark - July 4

(Screenshot by Russell)
Adrian Cox (clarinet, vocals); Björn Ingelstam (trumpet, vocals); Sven Erik Lundeqvist (piano); Lasse Mørck (double bass)

Today's Sunday Service came from Scandinavia. Adrian Cox is on an extended working trip in Europe, first Bulgaria, now Denmark. Joining our clarinetist were trumpeter Björn Ingelstam, pianist Sven Erik Lundeqvist and bassist Lasse Mőrck. If the Alex Welsh-Archie Semple Night People album was unfamiliar to the trio you wouldn't know it.

As usual, Cox sang one or two numbers. The fact that trumpeter Ingelstam offered to sing a couple added something different to this hugely successful weekly stream. Lundeqvist played some fine piano and, given the opportunity to solo, bassist Mørck grabbed it with both hands. Next stop for preacher Cox - the Aarhus Jazz Festival.

Set list included: Carolina Moon; Bye Bye Blackbird; Old FolksAfter My Laughter Came TearsMean to Me
